Invitation to Participate

You are invited to take part in a research project exploring the personal and cultural experiences of the Albanian community living on the island of Paros. Please take time to read this information sheet carefully. You are welcome to ask questions at any point.

Purpose of the Study

This study explores the lived experiences of the Albanian diaspora in Paros through visual and narrative forms. It seeks to understand how migration, identity, and community are expressed in everyday life and how personal stories contribute to broader cultural memory. The study will contribute to academic knowledge in media studies, migration research, and visual sociology, and aims to highlight underrepresented voices.

What Will Participation Involve?

If you choose to participate:

• You will take part in a semi-structured interview (30–45 minutes), where you will be invited to share your personal migration story and reflections on life in Paros.
• You will be photographed in a location of your choice that reflects your daily life or personal identity.
• The interview will be audio recorded for transcription and analysis.
• The interview can be conducted in English, Greek, French, or Italian.
• You will have the opportunity to review and approve any photographs before they are shared or exhibited.

Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time without any negative consequences.

Ethical Considerations and Privacy

All personal data collected in this study will be handled with strict confidentiality and care. Specifically:

• Audio recordings, interview transcripts, photographs, and consent forms will be securely stored in encrypted folders and password-protected devices.
• Participants will be assigned pseudonyms, and all identifying information will be removed from transcripts and photographic metadata.
• A separate, securely stored coding sheet will match real names with pseudonyms. This list will be accessible only to the principal investigator.
• At the conclusion of the study, all audio files will be deleted, and interview transcripts will be anonymized.
• Participants have the right to request the withdrawal of their images or interview content from public use at any time before final exhibition or publication.

Your privacy and autonomy are central to this research. All procedures follow the guidelines of Webster University’s Institutional Review Board.

Use of Materials

The photographs and stories collected may be used in:

• Curated exhibitions (in Greece and/or Switzerland)
• Academic presentations and international conferences
• A possible photobook or digital publication

You will be consulted before any public dissemination of your material.

Qëllimi i Studimit

Qëllimi është të dokumentohen përvojat e migracionit, identitetit dhe jetës së përditshme përmes tregimeve personale dhe fotografisë. Ky projekt synon të kontribuojë në njohuritë akademike dhe në përfaqësimin vizual të komunitetit shqiptar.

Çfarë Përfshin Pjesëmarrja?

• Do të jepni një intervistë të regjistruar (30–45 minuta) ku do të flisni për përvojat tuaja personale.
• Do të fotografoheni në një vend të zgjedhur prej jush që ka domethënie për ju.
• Intervista mund të zhvillohet në Anglisht, Greqisht, Frëngjisht ose Italisht.
• Do të keni të drejtën të miratoni fotografitë para çdo publikimi.

Pjesëmarrja është vullnetare dhe mund të tërhiqeni në çdo kohë pa pasoja.

Etika dhe Privatësia

Të dhënat tuaja do të ruhen me kujdes maksimal:

• Audio, transkriptimet, fotografitë dhe formularët e pëlqimit do të ruhen në pajisje të mbrojtura dhe dosje të koduara.
• Emri juaj do të zëvendësohet me pseudonim, dhe çdo informacion identifikues do të fshihet.
• Lista e emrave dhe pseudonimeve do të ruhet veçmas, vetëm nga hetuesi kryesor.
• Në fund të studimit, regjistrimet audio do të fshihen, dhe përmbajtja do të ruhet e anonimizuar.
• Keni të drejtë të kërkoni tërheqjen e imazheve apo citimeve tuaja nga përdorimi publik.

Përdorimi i Materialeve

Materialet mund të përdoren për:

• Ekspozita fotografike në Greqi ose Zvicër
• Konferenca dhe prezantime akademike
• Një botim ose katalog digjital të mundshëm

Ju do të njoftoheni dhe do të jepni miratimin tuaj përpara çdo publikimi.

Σας προσκαλούμε να συμμετάσχετε σε μια έρευνα σχετικά με τις εμπειρίες της αλβανικής κοινότητας στην Πάρο. Παρακαλούμε διαβάστε προσεκτικά τις πληροφορίες που ακολουθούν και μη διστάσετε να κάνετε ερωτήσεις.

Σκοπός της Έρευνας

Η παρούσα έρευνα διερευνά τις βιωματικές εμπειρίες της μετανάστευσης και της ταυτότητας μέσω φωτογραφίας και προσωπικών αφηγήσεων. Στόχος είναι να αναδειχθούν οι φωνές των μελών της αλβανικής κοινότητας και να συμβάλουν στην επιστημονική γνώση και στην πολιτιστική κατανόηση.

Τι Περιλαμβάνει η Συμμετοχή;

• Θα συμμετάσχετε σε μια ηχογραφημένη ημι-δομημένη συνέντευξη διάρκειας περίπου 30–45 λεπτών.
• Θα φωτογραφηθείτε σε έναν χώρο της επιλογής σας που σας εκφράζει.
• Η συνέντευξη μπορεί να γίνει στα Αγγλικά, Ελληνικά, Γαλλικά ή Ιταλικά.
• Θα έχετε το δικαίωμα να εγκρίνετε τις φωτογραφίες σας πριν από οποιαδήποτε δημόσια χρήση.

Η συμμετοχή είναι εθελοντική και μπορείτε να αποχωρήσετε οποιαδήποτε στιγμή χωρίς συνέπειες.

Ηθικά Ζητήματα και Απόρρητο

Όλα τα προσωπικά σας δεδομένα θα προστατευθούν αυστηρά:

• Τα αρχεία ήχου, απομαγνητοφωνήσεις, φωτογραφίες και έντυπα συναίνεσης θα αποθηκεύονται με ασφάλεια σε κρυπτογραφημένους φακέλους και προστατευμένες συσκευές.
• Θα χρησιμοποιούνται ψευδώνυμα, και θα αφαιρούνται όλα τα στοιχεία που μπορεί να σας ταυτοποιήσουν.
• Ο πίνακας αντιστοίχισης ονομάτων και ψευδωνύμων θα διατηρείται ξεχωριστά και με απόλυτη ασφάλεια.
• Με την ολοκλήρωση της έρευνας, τα αρχεία ήχου θα διαγράφονται οριστικά.
• Μπορείτε να ζητήσετε την απόσυρση των φωτογραφιών ή δηλώσεών σας από οποιαδήποτε δημόσια χρήση πριν την τελική δημοσίευση.

Όλες οι διαδικασίες συμμορφώνονται με τις κατευθυντήριες γραμμές του Πανεπιστημίου Webster.

Χρήση Υλικού

Το υλικό μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί σε:

• Φωτογραφικές εκθέσεις στην Ελλάδα ή/και στην Ελβετία
• Ακαδημαϊκές παρουσιάσεις και συνέδρια
• Πιθανή δημοσίευση σε φωτογραφικό λεύκωμα ή ηλεκτρονική μορφή

Θα ενημερωθείτε και θα εγκρίνετε κάθε μορφή δημοσίευσης.
