I had the great pleasure of presenting on Wednesday, February 7th at the MEI – Museo Nazionale dell’Emigrazione Italiana in Genoa (Italy) about the perception of Italian migrants in Switzerland. The one-hour talk analyzed how Italian migrants have been photographically represented in illustrated magazines in the French-speaking part of Switzerland in the 1960s – 1070s and in the years between 2007 and 2019.

The presentation focused on semiotics and text analysis of these publications which eventually led to the key choices for the production of the photographic portraits of ‘The Invisible Diaspora.’
